Whiplash have released Bullet Train, the first single from ROAR, their eighth album, which Time To Kill Records puts out worldwide on 27 November.
Some of the audience already owns it. A strictly limited version went out independently earlier this year, sold on the band's European tour with Napalm Death under the title Thrashquake. That title survives as the opening track. The worldwide edition carries a new name, new artwork by Ed Repka and a proper campaign behind it.
Ten songs, recorded at Studio Mozart and Concrete Island Studio, produced by Tony Portaro and mixed by Jamie King Audio: Thrashquake, Bullet Train, Can't Take Back a Bullet, Sword Meet Skull, Who Stole My Whiskey, When the Deadman Calls, Red Tape Riot, Mother's Kill Club, Sonic Asylum and Graveyard of Good and Evil.
Portaro calls the single “our high-octane anthem for the speed freaks” and describes it as being about “that headlong rush of living life at 200 MPH.” Whiplash have been making that argument since 1984 and have not needed a new one.
