Wingless Cut a Two Minute Song for the Room, Not the Record

Wingless have premiered "The Gnosis of Decay" through Selfmadegod Records, the second song from Vision Beyond Form, which follows on 6 November.

It runs about two minutes, and that was the point. "A fast, direct and uncompromising two minute death metal blast," is how Grzegorz Luzar put it. "We wanted this track to give the listener not a moment's respite and to hit them with full force from the very first seconds. It's one of those tracks that was created with live performance in mind."

Writing a song for the room rather than for the running order is a decision a band usually makes around the fifth or sixth album, once they know which songs the audience gives back to them. This is the sixth, eight tracks across thirty six minutes, from a band that has worked a darker death and doom seam out of Kraków since 2012.

It is also the first with Marcin Urbaś singing. He arrived at the start of 2026 from Sceptic, replacing Michał Loranc, and shares the lyrics with Luzar, who wrote the music. Rafał Wechterowicz, who has drawn for Slayer and Behemoth, did the cover.
