Withered Land have released a film for "Imia Na Kamieni", from Piesni vietru, out on 27 November.

Singing in Belarusian is the decision that defines this band. Almost every symphonic black metal group from the region works in English or in Russian, and choosing the language with the smallest audience of the three is a statement about where the songs come from rather than about who will hear them.

That fits what the album is. It is a concept record about leaving home, and a record on that subject sung in the language of the place being left is doing the work twice.

Immortal Frost Productions published the film. The band have been building this sound, orchestral and slow to arrive, across several records, and nothing about the new song suggests they have moved off it.

Belarus has almost no metal infrastructure and almost no way out of the country for a band, which is why most of what comes from there reaches anyone at all through small Belgian and Polish labels like this one.
