Wyatt E. release Armour Of Surrender on 25 January through Heavy Psych Sounds, made with the Iranian singer Nina Saeidi.
This is a band whose whole catalogue points east. The records are named in Akkadian, the music is drone and doom built on repetition rather than riffs, and the subject has always been Mesopotamia rather than anything from the country they live in. Bringing in a singer from the region the music keeps circling is the obvious next step and also the one most bands in this position never take.
Saeidi is the voice of Lowen and has worked in exactly that space, between Persian classical music and heavy repetition, so the collaboration is not a decorative guest spot.
Jonas Sanders recorded and mastered it at BlackOut Studio in Brussels. He is also a member of the band, which keeps the whole thing inside the group.
They formed in Liège in 2015 and this will be their fourth full length.
