Wyrm Chasm have released their self titled debut album, eight tracks, out today on vinyl, CD and digital.
They are doing it alone. The 180g black vinyl is an edition of one hundred on their own Bandcamp, with a jewel case CD beside it, and no label appears anywhere in the credits. Eleven years separate this from their first EP, which makes the pressing run look less like modesty and more like arithmetic.
"We've crafted our eponymous album into a melodic, yet atmospheric release that fully represents our sound and attack," the band said. Early notices agree: The Metal Crypt gave it four out of five for "a textured, ambitious Black Metal sound", and Musika picked out "razor sharp riffs paired with venomous melodies".
It was tracked at Razor Throne Studio in Austin, mixed and mastered at S.A.M. Studios in Dallas, with cover art by Mark Erskine. The quartet are Stephen Jeter on bass and vocals, Eric Carrasco and Dale Childs on guitars, Buddy Griffin on drums.
