Wyrms have gone into the studio to record what they call their final album. It is due sometime in 2027 and there is nothing else to go on yet.

The word final is the whole announcement. A band does not usually say it this early, before a title, a label statement or a date, and saying it at the studio door means the decision was made before the songs were finished rather than after the record came out and nobody bought it.

They have been doing this since 2007, out of Orleans, with four albums and eleven releases behind them, most recently through Purity Through Fire. The French black metal underground of that generation has lost most of its bands quietly, without a last record at all, so one announced in advance is a courtesy.

What they play has an ambient half to it, the long form kind that treats a riff as weather rather than as a hook, which is why their records run the length they do.

More details were promised soon.
