Xasthur release Open to Misinterpretation today on Prophecy Productions. Nine tracks: Running From Silence, Put You Out of Your Misery, Mantras of Delusion, Impersonating the Impostors, Nothing in the Dark, Waste of Eternity, Prisoner of Your Past, Strategic Incompetence and Death Can Heal.
The lengths are the thing to look at. Nothing passes five minutes eighteen and Strategic Incompetence stops at two twelve. For a project whose nineties and two thousands records could spend eight minutes arriving, that is a different kind of writing, and the titles have moved the same way, from the abstract towards something closer to grievance.
Prophecy have the whole thing up as a full album player and a visualizer for Put You Out Of Your Misery. Xasthur has been Scott Conner working alone since 1995, and we carry twenty six of his records.
