Xion, the five piece from Falun in Dalarna, have released their second album When Stars Collide through Fireflash Records. It holds eight songs and follows the debut Between Shadows and Gods, which came out in January 2024.
The album was recorded at Sellnoise Studios in Sweden and produced, mixed and mastered by Jonas Arnberg, with cover art by Pär Olofsson. It comes on CD, on phantom purple vinyl with a four page insert and a signed card, digitally, and in bundles with merchandise through Bandcamp.
"This upcoming album consists of tracks we've worked on for a very long time and put a lot of effort into," the band said of the record, which they describe as full of anthems meant to stick.
Xion play speed metal and thrash, and they have spent the two years since the debut in front of larger crowds than a young band usually reaches: support slots with In Flames and the Gene Simmons Band, and a set at Sweden Rock Festival.
The line up is Robin Björk on vocals, Erik Zetterström and Liam Rådman on guitars, Johan Berg on bass and Algot Brask on drums. When Stars Collide closes with "Zero Light", the song that opened the campaign for it in June.
