Zealot Cult release Psalms of Filth tomorrow, 25 September, through Awakening Records.
Ten tracks, and the first and last are an intro and an outro, which leaves eight songs: Turned into Dust, Sadist, the title track, Faith Brings Death, Take the Scalp, Usurper, Dead Meat and Nothing But Hate. Awakening has Dead Meat and Usurper out already.
It is the second album and the first since Spiritual Sickness in 2018, with the Karmenian Crypt EP in 2016 before it. The band formed in Limerick in 2008: Jay Quigely sings and plays guitar, Mick Carey plays the second, Alan Lee and Conor O'Donovan are both listed on bass and Declan Malone plays drums. Ireland has never had a large death metal scene and the bands it does have tend to last, which is one way of reading an eight year gap.
