The doctor has been losing for nine years and tomorrow he finishes. Zornheym release Descending Into Madness on 30 September through Noble Demon, the third instalment of the story they began in 2017.
The record runs ten tracks: Prologue: From the Depths of Selasee, Deus Rex, Somewhere Far Beyond, Deep Below, Anneliese, Alone in the Dark, Gallow's Oak, The Funeral March, Descending and Come Sweet Death. Three of them have been out ahead of the record, The Funeral March among them, built on Chopin's and carried by a choir cast as pallbearers.
The band formed in 2014 and have written every album around the asylum at Zornheim and the man who runs it. Where Hatred Dwells and Darkness Reigns came in 2017 and The Zornheim Sleep Experiment in 2021, which makes the five years behind this one the longest gap they have left between records.
