AfterDoom have released The Advent, the second song from Immaterium, and the visuals come from their own set at Terrassa Metal Fest II in March.
Using live footage rather than a shoot is cheap, and bands at this level do it for that reason, but the choice says something here. AfterDoom call that festival the point at which their live presentation changed, with a rebuilt setlist and new stage production, so the footage is advertising the show as much as the song.
Musically they describe the new material as pushing further into deathcore, black metal and metalcore at once, past where Assembly of Chaos left them in 2022. The choruses and melodic passages stay, set against riffs cut into short blocks.
The Barcelona band formed in 2020 and are on Maldito Digital. The Advent follows Sempiternum, which opened this run of singles, and the album has no date yet.
Blackened deathcore is a crowded description in 2026, and the part of it these five seem least willing to drop is the melody.
