Blind Channel have put out Into The Void, the last single before Painstream. Aaron Pauley of Of Mice & Men sings on it, and the band say the lyric came from two specific things: the Fermi paradox, which asks why a universe this size is this quiet, and the Wow! signal, the seventy two second burst an Ohio telescope picked up in 1977 and nobody has explained since.
"If Earth really were the only place in the universe where life exists, we are not doing a very good job of preserving it," the band said, which is the turn the song makes: a question about space answered as a question about here. On Pauley's contribution they were less solemn. He "made sure the moshpits suck people in like black holes." Pauley said he was honoured and called the track a bomb.
It is the band's sixth album, twelve tracks, and it follows a hiatus the group announced its return from in August. Joel Hokka, who shared the vocals, said in April 2025 that he would not be coming back, citing insomnia, so Niko Moilanen now sings alone, with Joonas Porko on guitar, Olli Matela on bass, Tommi Lalli on drums and Aleksi Kaunisvesi on percussion and samples.
One correction worth making: Metal Hammer Italia dates the album to 30 October 2027. Century Media's own store, Blabbermouth and Kerrang all give 30 October 2026, and the band say it is out shortly, so the Italian date is a year adrift.
