Breakdown Of Sanity have put out "One-Way Mirror" from Reveries, which arrives on 6 November. It will be their first full length in ten years.
The gap is the story here. This band were one of the few Swiss metalcore acts with an audience outside their own country in the early 2010s, built on records they put out themselves and on a live reputation rather than on a label push, and then they stopped. The album was announced earlier this year and this is the second piece of it to arrive.
What the song does is what the band always did: clean passages that are actually written rather than dropped in, a breakdown placed where the structure asks for one instead of every ninety seconds, and a production that keeps the guitars legible. Metalcore has moved several times in a decade, and the interesting thing about a band returning from one is whether they move with it or carry on from where they stopped.
It arrives as a lyric video. The record follows in three weeks.
