Butcher Babies release NIGHTBLOOM today through Judge and Jury Records. Ten tracks: Lost In Your Touch, Sincerity, Blame It On The Wind, Broken and Beautiful, Are You Waiting Up?, Black Clouds Over Georgia, Fever In My Neck, Songbird, Leaving California and Black Dove.
Look at that tracklist next to the one on Goliath. Black Clouds Over Georgia, Leaving California, Songbird: this is a band that started in Los Angeles at the loud, theatrical end of the genre, and the song titles have moved somewhere else entirely. Nothing here runs past four minutes two, and three of them, Lost In Your Touch, Blame It On The Wind and Black Dove, are already out with videos.
The band formed in 2010. Fifteen years in, putting a record out on their own imprint is the part that reads as earned.
