Carnifex have put out "Licking Love From A Knife", with a video by Midvessel, from More Than Misery. The album is their tenth and it arrives on 6 November, the first they have made for Sumerian Records.
The name worth noting is behind the desk. Zach Householder, who plays guitar in Whitechapel, produced it, which puts the record in the hands of a man from the one band that has spent as long as this one arguing with the limits of deathcore. Two acts from the same 2007 wave, one of them now producing the other, is a sentence that would have read oddly fifteen years ago.
Ten albums is also not a normal number in this genre. Most of the bands that came up alongside them either broke or changed names, and the ones left tend to space their records out. Carnifex have never stopped for long.
The song arrives three weeks before the album, which lands on the same day as half of November's metalcore and deathcore calendar.
