Carnifex release More than Misery tomorrow, 6 November, through Sumerian Records.

Ten songs, and the running order does something worth noticing: Licking Love from a Knife, the song that introduced the record, is track ten. The other single, Lie To My Face, is not on the list at all under that name. A band that puts its calling card last is betting the eight songs before it can hold an audience that came for one.

The titles run exactly where you expect from this band after twenty years: And I Held Hands with Death opens, then The Process of Pain, No Gods Only Graves, Coffin Crowned Kings, Roses and Rotting Corpses.

Carnifex have been the most consistent American deathcore band of their generation largely by refusing to move, and the sleeve, the song titles and the label are the same apparatus they have used since the start.

It is out everywhere tomorrow.
