Crown Magnetar have confirmed what anybody at a recent show had already worked out: Byron London is no longer their drummer. Matt Kilner has been filling the seat for months.
London has gone to Synestia full time, which is a sideways move within the same small world rather than a departure from it. Dan Tucker's statement is unusually warm for a line-up notice.
"I built Crown Magnetar from the bottom with Byron," the singer wrote. "Years ago when we lived together we'd stay up all night watching music videos and talking about how we wanted to do this. Well we did it and we're still going. Byron we love you, miss you, always got your back and we will see you on the road sometime soon."
Two people in a shared flat talking about a band that did not exist, and then it did, and now one of them is in a different one. That is most of how this genre gets made, and it is rarely written down this plainly.
