Dantalion put out their self titled album tomorrow, 1 November, through Base Record Production. It is their tenth full-length, and the first one to carry nothing but the band's own name.
That choice tends to mean something. A self titled record arriving at the start of a discography is an introduction. One arriving at album ten, twenty one years after the demo that opened the account in 2005, reads more like a statement about what is left after everything else has been tried.
The Spanish band have tried a fair amount. The debut When the Ravens Fly over Me came out in 2006 as black metal, the middle stretch of the discography moved into melodic death and doom, and the later records came back toward where they started. Fatum, in 2023, was the one before this.
Seven tracks: Born of My Own Damnation, Ascend Through Ruin, Whispers from the Inner Abyss, Where the Hidden Demons Rise, The Temple of Internal Ruin, The Fire Beneath My Skin and The Inner Void. The third of those came out ahead of the album.
The release is digital through Base Record Production, and the whole record is up as a full album premiere on the Black Metal Promotion channel.
