DGM are on the 2027 70000 Tons Of Metal sailing, which leaves Miami for Puerto Plata and back between 14 and 18 January aboard the Freedom of the Seas.

The organisers called them Italian progressive power metal architects, and quoted The Ghosts Of Insanity in the announcement. Thirty of the sixty bands who will play are now public, so the bill is exactly half built with roughly two and a half months to go.

For a band from Rome with twelve albums behind them and almost no profile in North America, a floating festival is a more useful booking than a club tour would be. Everyone aboard has already paid, nobody can leave, and every band does a meet and greet, which is how acts who have never toured a continent end up with listeners on it.

The band formed in 1996 and have been on Frontiers for years, working a line of progressive power metal that has stayed recognisably theirs across a dozen records while the line-up around the founding core changed repeatedly.

Public sales for the sailing opened recently, and the organisers say the remaining thirty names are still to come.
