Frontierer have released a video for Our Mainframe Earache, directed by Nick Neuenhaus, from Ultraviolet Parasite, which arrives on 23 October.
The band's own phrase for what they do is transatlantic noise terrorists, which is both a joke about the geography and an accurate warning. Pedram Valiani writes the guitars in Edinburgh, Chad Kapper sings from Missouri, and the records get built across an ocean rather than in a room.
What comes out of that is mathcore at its least forgiving: the riffs are sample shredded and the time signatures do not settle, and the whole thing sounds less like a band playing than like a machine coming apart at speed.
It follows Oxidized from 2021, and before that Unloved and Orange Mathematics. Iain MacLeod plays bass, Dan Stevenson the second guitar and Luke Coursey drums.
