Frontierer have released Ultraviolet Parasite, fourteen tracks of it, and a video for "Ions and Oxygen Rockets" shot by Nick Neuenhaus.
Fourteen songs is a lot for a band who work in this register. What Frontierer do is put as much information into a bar as it will hold and then add more, and an hour of that is not background listening; it is a record that asks something of you every time you put it on.
That is also why the band have never been prolific. The first song went out a month ago, and the gap before this record was long enough that most of the bands who followed them into mathcore have come and gone.
A United Kingdom and Ireland run with Car Bomb follows in November, which pairs the two groups most often named when anyone tries to explain what this music is. Playing it live is the harder half of the job, and the fact that they book club tours at all says they have worked out how.
