Godslut have put out a video for Druglust, from The Art of Deconstruction, their second album, which Selfmadegod Records released on 4 September.
“The theme tells the story of a mental and physical failure of someone struggling with addiction, specifically to hard drugs,” says Krzysiek Śniadecki, who plays guitar and sings. He credits a track called Brud, by Popiół To Kot with Leny Da Fam and Nobodyinfact, as the thing that set the words going. Julian Konowalski shot the video at the RUF Guitars factory.
The album puts that kind of private collapse next to the public one, geopolitics and a society bending out of shape, seen from the point of view of somebody stuck between being a child and being an adult. Śniadecki calls what the Polish trio make so-called satanic music, and then talks about nothing but human behaviour.
