Hatebreed have released a video for Decisions Become Destinies, from Fatal Paradox, two days before the album arrives on 6 November.
That makes four songs out of eleven heard in advance, after Kill Count Increase, The Carrion Choir and the title track. More than a third of a record given away before release day is a lot, and for this band it is the sensible arithmetic: an audience that has been buying the same thing for twenty five years does not need to be surprised, it needs to know the songs before the room starts moving.
It is their ninth album. The European tour opens the same night the record does, at Progresja in Warsaw, then Prague and Vienna in the two days after.
Starting a tour on release day used to be a gamble, because nobody in the room would know the new material. Putting four songs out first is what makes it work.
