Hollow Front have announced No Love Without Despair, their fourth album, for 11 December, released independently.
It follows Dakota Alvarez coming back to the band on the single So Long To Yesterday. He is singing again but has not picked the guitar back up, and is still dealing with what an ischemic stroke left behind.
The band did not soften the account. “The last few years tested this band in ways we never could have imagined,” they said. “There were times we genuinely didn't know if Hollow Front had a future.”
They also spelled out how the record got made: “made and fully funded by us, with zero label or management backing. From the recording and artwork to the videos and merch, this has been a completely DIY effort.” And then the line that is hard to read as anything but relief: “The fact that this album exists feels like a miracle.”
