Impending Doom have announced At the Throne of God, their first album in eight years, and released Nothing Will Remain from it.
The record is on sale through the band's own webstore now and reaches streaming services on 5 February. Selling the physical copies first and holding the stream back three months is a choice more bands in this corner of the music have been making, and it puts the people who buy the record ahead of the people who let it pass in a playlist.
Eight years is the distance to The Sin and Doom Vol. II, which came out in 2018, though the band have not been silent in between. The Hellbent EP arrived in 2021, Last Days in 2023 and Towards the Light in 2025. Brook Reeves has fronted them since 2005 and the current line up has held together since Andrew Holzbaur came in on drums in 2020, with Manny Contreras and Eric Correa on guitars and David Sittig on bass.
They have described what they do as Christian deathcore from the first record onward, and twenty one years on they are one of very few bands from the opening wave of the style still working under the same name with the same singer.
