In This Moment have released their performance of Crawl, recorded at the SiriusXM studio.
It is the third song out of that session. I Want To Believe and Whore came first, and taking a studio performance apart one song at a time over several weeks is now a standard way of keeping a record in front of people long after release week has passed.
Crawl comes from Witch, which arrived on 28 August as the band's ninth album and the first they have made for Better Noise Music. Eleven tracks, with Dayseeker on I Want To Believe, Kim Dracula on Heretic and Kat Von D on a reading of Another Brick In The Wall.
Maria Brink describes the record as a declaration of inner transformation, built on taking pain and persecution and turning them into something usable. Being a witch, in the sense she means it, is about making things rather than suffering them. Twenty years in, the spectacle around this band has never been separate from that argument, and a bare studio performance is the one setting where the songs have to carry it alone.
