Manifestations have put out a single and a video for "Now You're Dead (Fuck You Too)", which went up as an exclusive on Slam Worldwide.
The five piece sit where death metal, slam and beatdown meet, and the track plays to all three at once: the riffs are written downward rather than forward, every section exists to set up the next drop, and the whole thing is over before it outstays its welcome. That is the shape of the format, and the band are not pretending otherwise.
They have been going since 2019 and are still unsigned, with four releases behind them. The most recent, an EP called Welcome 2 Gary, came out earlier this year and named the city they come from in the title, which tells you how much of their identity is tied to it. Gary, Indiana is not a place with a scene infrastructure to lean on, and a band that keeps the name in front of the music is making a point rather than filling a sleeve.
Slam Worldwide is the channel this corner of the music runs through, and an exclusive there reaches further than most labels could place a band of this size.
