Master Massive have put out Nexus Noir with a video, through Fireflash Records, and it is the fourth single the Swedish band have released this year.
The arithmetic is worth looking at. They formed in 1993 and have three full-length albums in the whole catalogue. One of those, White Shadows, came out this year, and so did the singles Islands and Bells and Jonah and the Whale before this one. More of their recorded output is dated 2026 than any other year they have had.
That pattern usually means one of two things. Either a band has found a label willing to pay for frequency, or they have decided that thirty years of saving material for albums was the wrong approach. Fireflash have put all four out.
Nexus Noir runs a little over four minutes and arrives as a single rather than as a piece of an announced record, which leaves open whether a fifth album is being assembled out of these or whether the songs are the point.
The band are from Skövde and have kept a line-up revolving around a long list of past members since the early nineties.
