Ocean Of Illusions have a new song, Illuminating In Pain, which went up as an exclusive on the Slam Worldwide channel.
Where a song like this appears is not a detail. Slam Worldwide is a channel rather than a label, and for bands at this level it has taken over the job the magazines used to do: a premiere there reaches the people who care about this corner of deathcore in a way a press release does not. The band are not signed to a major and work with Bleeding Art Collective.
They have been at it longer than the name suggests. Formed in Midland Park, New Jersey in 2012, they put out High Tides in 2015 and Unrecognizable in 2022, with an EP between them and the Nexus EP earlier this year following the single of that name in 2025.
Fourteen years is a long time in a genre where most lineups do not last four, and the catalogue reads like a band that keeps going back to work rather than one chasing a moment.
