Power Trip are filming in Dallas on Sunday 8 November, and they want the room full. The shoot is at the Studio At The Factory in Deep Ellum, built around a live performance rather than a set.
Admission is free and the capacity is limited. To reserve a place, attendees make a five dollar donation to Amplified Minds, a non-profit based in the city. Doors at 6:30pm, music at 7:30pm.
Putting the RSVP behind a charity donation does two things at once. It keeps the price low enough that the band get the crowd they need on camera, and it filters for the people who will actually turn up, which is the problem with free tickets.
A crossover band shooting a performance rather than a staged piece is also a sensible read of what Power Trip are for. The songs were built in rooms like this one, and a camera pointed at a floor does more for them than a narrative would.
The band have not said which song is being filmed, or what the footage is for.
