Prong release an album called Prong tomorrow, 6 November, through Napalm Records.
Bands normally use the self-titled record at the start, when the name is the only thing they have to sell, or at a reinvention. Doing it this far in, forty years after Tommy Victor started the band behind the bar at CBGB, is a third thing: a claim that this is what the name means, settled.
Eleven songs. The order we wrote about when New Commission came out holds up on the full list: The Banner opens on thrash, New Commission pushes, The Uprising brings back the industrial side, Uncertain Truth turns melodic, and Fear the Sun goes to New York hardcore. Then six more nobody has heard.
Victor has been the only constant since 1986, and the argument about whether the industrial turn was the right one has outlasted most of the people who started it. Napalm have given the record a CD release, which at this point in the band's run is a straightforward read on who still buys it.
