The shows that brought Children Of Bodom songs back to a stage were meant to be two of them. Samy Elbanna, who sings them, has now explained in a Chaoszine interview how they became a 2027 festival run, and how little he can say about anything past that.
"When we set out to do the two celebratory shows in the beginning of the year, we were like, we'll bring these songs for one night or two nights back to life," he said. What changed it was who turned up. He describes seeing firsthand that there was a whole new generation of people who never had the opportunity to see the band earlier.
On the festival dates already announced for next year he is warm and plain about it: a beautiful opportunity to do it one more time.
Past that he will not go, and the reason he gives is worth hearing from someone in his position. "Everything that's public is what I know, you know, in that sense. Because, as I said earlier, whatever the guys feel they want to do, that's what we're going to do."
He fronts Lost Society, not this band, and he has said before that new music is not his call either.
