Thrown Into Exile have released Remorse with a guest solo from Michael Amott of Arch Enemy, their second single through BLKIIBLK.
The guest is not a random name. This band have spent years opening for Arch Enemy, At The Gates, Orbit Culture and Black Label Society, and getting a solo out of one of those headliners is what that kind of road work is supposed to eventually buy.
Their own description of the song is bleaker than the usual press line. It is about how much of yourself you will hand over to something that leaves you exactly where you started, and about carrying the mistakes afterwards.
They formed in Los Angeles in 2011 and have put out sixteen things since, most of them singles. Josh Santos, who is 27, took over the vocals recently, and the writing has moved towards a sound that sits between the American and the Swedish ends of what they do.
More is promised for 2027.
