Turmion Kätilöt have put out Amon-Ra, the third single from Resodance, with under a month to go before the album lands on 23 October through Nuclear Blast. Toni Hiltunen directed and edited the video.
It is their twelfth studio album in twenty three years, which is a working rate most bands abandon after the third, and the method has not changed since Hoitovirhe in 2004: metal instrumentation welded to dance beats, two vocalists trading off, and songs built to be shouted back in a room rather than admired. Mikko Tegelman produced it with the band, and the stated aim was to get the noise of their live shows onto a record.
Raivotarjonta and Lunastakaa came out ahead of this one. The twelve tracks run from Nostajat and Kunnioita through Amon-Ra and Hallelujah to Teloitus and Raivotarjonta, closing on In Our Dreams. The band have spent two decades as the loudest thing in Finnish industrial metal, and nothing about the run-up suggests they intend to hand that over.
