Wednesday 13 have put out professionally filmed footage of I Walked With A Zombie from Bloodstock, recorded on the Sophie Lancaster Stage at Catton Park on 7 August.
That stage is named for a woman murdered in 2007 for the way she dressed, and a band whose whole act is horror costume headlining it is less incongruous than it sounds. The song is the one everybody in that crowd came to hear, built out of horror cinema, horror punk guitars and a joke the audience is in on.
Releasing the footage now has an obvious purpose. The Cursed Blessings tour starts in Prague on 23 November and runs to Wolverhampton on 13 December, co headlined with The Birthday Massacre, and three British dates were added late.
The line-up behind Joseph Poole is Jack Tankersley and Diego Ibarra on guitars, Troy Doebbler on bass and Mike Dupke on drums, which is the most stable version of this band in a decade.
Twenty two years and eleven albums in, the costume is still the point and the songs still hold a festival stage.
