Winds Of Plague have put up a photograph of Nick Eash writing, and for this band that counts as news. The guitarist has not been part of the writing since 2015, and his last credited record with them was Resistance in 2013.
"Actual image of OG guitar player Nick Eash writing new WOP song for the first time in 14 years," the band posted, which is the tone they have always used and the reason people either stayed or left.
Asked what it amounts to, the band told Lambgoat the songs are being written by the line-up from Decimate The Weak, their 2008 album, and that nothing is scheduled. "Just feeling very inspired to make new music. Not sure when or how it will come out but something is coming," they said. "And it's the original guys from DTW working on the songs so should be something special."
That record is the one the whole symphonic deathcore argument was had over: keyboards and string arrangements welded onto breakdowns, in 2008, when the scene had no agreed position on whether that was ambition or decoration. Eighteen years later the question has settled by itself, and half the bands doing it now were in school then.
The last album was Blood Of My Enemy in 2017. Nothing has been announced beyond the photograph.
