Bat recorded Venom's Live Like An Angel (Die Like A Devil) in 2015, put it in a drawer, and left it there for eleven years. Conrad Lant's death is why it is out now.

"It's undeniable the impact that Cronos and Venom has had on myself and Bat," says Ryan Waste. "In the early days of the band we wore our influences on our sleeve, covering Motorhead and Venom in our live set. When it came time to record our debut full length, Wings Of Chains, back in 2015, we tracked Live Like an Angel (Die Like a Devil) along with the 12 originals. It's been lying dormant in the vaults for over ten years and upon hearing the news of Conrad's passing, we decided to resurrect it in his honor."

The recording has original drummer Felix Griffin on it, which dates it precisely. Ian Whalen and Yave Rust engineered it and Joel Grind mixed and mastered it, and nothing about the performance has been tidied up in the decade since.

It is a reasonable way for a Richmond speed metal band to mark the death of the man whose first three records made their genre possible. The song is on Bandcamp and streaming now.
