Malevolent Creation have dropped two of their touring musicians. Bassist Jesse Jolly and guitarist Chris Cannella are out, and the band say so themselves, in plain terms.
"During rehearsals for our now complete Latin American Tour it was apparent there services as live musicians were not needed," they wrote, adding that the core three, drummer Ronnie Parmer, singer and guitarist Deron Miller and founder Philip Fasciana, "were going in one direction and Jesse and Chris were going into another".
Then the sentence that actually explains it: "We remain a four piece band again. Having a third guitarist for live shows was a bad mistake."
A new bassist will be named shortly. The fourteenth album, Return Fire, is still on schedule, and touring plans for 2027 and 2028 are being worked on.
They end it without a complaint. "We wish Jesse and Chris all the best for the future and are not going to talk down on them as it simply was not working out." That is a more honest exit notice than most bands manage.
