Antichrist Magazine have announced A Tribute To Mayhem for 20 November, with fourteen underground bands from Europe, North America and South America, and the interesting part is the song list rather than the band list.
"Deathcrush", "Freezing Moon" and "Buried by Time and Dust" are there, as they would be on any tribute to this band. But so are "My Death", "Psywar" and "Worthless Abominations Destroyed", which come from the decades most tribute records pretend did not happen, and "Grand Declaration of War", which is the album even the faithful argue about.
Two bands chose the same one. Dead Sleep, from Sweden, and Horrenda, from Ireland, both took "Life Eternal", and the compilation keeps both.
The names run from Wolfabyss in Spain and Vephar in Poland to Impia Maleficencia, Oskrnavitelj in Serbia, Taartaros, Myrholt in Norway, Galdragon in Scotland, Nodtveidt in Bulgaria, Hymnodya in Italy, Nixil, Ialdabaoth in France and Incineratus.
It goes out through Bandcamp and YouTube, which is where a project like this belongs.
