Urisk have released "The Hauled and the Waif", the first song from Call, which came out on 2 October through Vendetta Records.

The title of the album works in two languages at once. In Scottish Gaelic call means loss. In English it is a voice raised to bring something back. The record is about both, and about treating ecological and cultural loss as the same process: species gone, seas and forests damaged, a language stopped being spoken, the old ways of living with land broken.

They are two people from Bonn, Benedikt Brixius and Marleen Bugener, working since 2023, which makes the Scottish subject matter a choice rather than an inheritance.

Seven long songs, most of them recorded in their own home studio with the drums done separately at Liquid Aether, which keeps the raw edge of the earlier self released work while giving it more room.

Celtic folklore and myth have been in the writing since the start, next to personal despair and the environment.
