Short Biography

Formed in Riverside, California in 2002, with Chris Garza on rhythm guitar. Mitch Lucker became the singer after the first vocalist, Tanner Womack, and a self-titled EP came out on Third Degree Records in 2005. Century Media released The Cleansing in 2007, No Time to Bleed in 2009 and The Black Crown in 2011, which entered the Billboard 200 at number 28. The songs alternate growls and high screams over fast, grindcore-derived drumming, changes of time signature and breakdowns. Lucker died on 1 November 2012 after a motorcycle crash in Huntington Beach. Eddie Hermida, formerly of All Shall Perish, joined on vocals in 2013 and first recorded on You Can't Stop Me (Nuclear Blast, 2014), whose title came from lyrics Lucker had left. The self-titled album of 2017 moved toward nu metal. The band returned to Century Media in 2022 and released Remember… You Must Die in 2023. Garza announced a hiatus in January 2026 and returned on 22 July 2026, and Graceless is due on 20 November 2026.
