Most bands trickle out a single. Hekatoxen have put their entire debut album online before it comes out. Obsidian Majesty is streaming in full through Death Metal Promotion ahead of its 2 October release on Nuclear Winter Records.
The Tampere quartet follow their 2022 EP Utter Darkness with eight tracks: Lost Souls Epitome, I Am Them, Spawns Of Darkness, Haunting Ceremony, Domus Vilomaxus, Grave Reveries, At Hellsrivers Pathway and Vanguard The Dark. The line-up is Jussi on vocals, lead guitar, acoustic guitar and synth, Niko on rhythm guitar, Risto on bass and Vesa on drums.
The label puts the record inside the Finnish nineties tradition without calling it a revival, and names Demigod, Adramelech, early Sentenced and Funebrarum as the company it keeps.
