Machukha begin a British run in Brighton on 7 November, and the song they have sent ahead of it is called Severing.
The video is their own work rather than a label commission, and the band describe what it is about in plain terms: the conflict inside a person, the survival that follows, and the hole left where a damaged part used to be. The song is the first piece of a second album, scheduled for early 2027 through Lay Bare Records.
They are Ukrainian musicians working out of Berlin, which is the fact that shapes everything about the band, including the name, and they play the post black metal that scene does well: long, slow, loud rather than fast. Mochari, the first album, came out in 2024.
The UK dates are the first time most people there will have the chance to hear any of it in a room. Severing is streaming now.
