Mork play Italy on Tuesday 20 October, at the Slaughter Club in Paderno Dugnano outside Milan. It is one date on a European tour that runs through the autumn, built around Monolitt, the album Peaceville put out on 19 June.
The project has belonged to Thomas Eriksen since he started it in 2004, and the two decades since have taken his black metal somewhere more personal and more atmospheric than the second wave it came out of, without softening it.
Italy has had Mork before, which is why the Italian press treat the date as a return rather than an arrival. One club show in a country that size is a small commitment, and for a band of this kind it is also the right one: the rooms that suit this music hold a few hundred people and nothing is lost by admitting it.
